Principals' Message

Welcome to the Success Preparatory Academy website.

Our school serves children from all over New Orleans. We are located on Bienville Street in the Lower Mid-City/Treme neighborhood (not far from the historic French Quarter). Students here are offered an extensive college prep curriculum during the day and a co-curricular program after-school to prepare them for college, leadership and lifelong learning.

Success Preparatory Academy is a wonderful place to teach and learn. Our daily activities are guided by our overarching value of "Ubuntu" (I am who I am because of you). Our education triangle is further completed by the strong support from our parents and families, the school personnel, and our board of directors. The collaborative effort among all constituents is critical to offering our students a high quality education that will prepare them for top notch high schools and graduation from 4 year colleges.

High expectations for our students are consistently upheld by our faculty and staff, and we appreciate the support of our students' families in this regard. Our values of service, teamwork, achievement, respect and enthusiasm are visible in our interaction throughout the school community; and we collaboratively work to narrow the achievement gap academically while also incorporating the strong cultural history of New Orleans through our high quality music and art programs. Our dynamic team of educators hails from all around the country and abroad, and together our mission is to provide ALL students with a world class education. It is their right.

As you browse the pages of this website, you will notice the wealth of opportunities offered to our students. Students participate in college tours as early as Kindergarten, and they are also reminded of their civic responsibility through service learning projects. We encourage students to take advantage of the possibilities and become involved in things like our after-school program where they are able to participate in dance, percussion, drama, cooking, guitar and many other exciting classes. It is widely known that music and art help improve academics and teach self-discipline. We therefore encourage all of our students to get involved and realize their dreams.
